Madeline Coakley, “Park Pond”

Madeline began her love for painting as a gardener.  Designing and planting gardens continues to be a rewarding activity and expression.  As a child, she was surrounded by her Mother’s colorful and well-designed flower beds, as well as her Grandmother’s, who not only tended her gardens, but also painted them in oils, water colors, and pastels.

In 2008, Madeline began taking oil painting and pastel classes and found that pastel was her favorite medium. Many of her paintings are inspired by the beauty of the local landscape, which offers seasonal varieties of flowers and foliage, and wonderful views of water and sky.

She is grateful to her fellow artists and instructors who have made her art journey a meaningful and enjoyable process.

Patricia Seekamp, “Spring at Stone Bridge”

Patricia Seekamp is a representational, pastel painter. She is captivated by the New England landscape and how light and shadow affect the colors seen in nature. She enjoys capturing these moments in time and keeping them alive though her artwork.

Patricia has achieved elected member status in the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art, the Lyme Art Association, the Connecticut Pastel Society, the Academic Artists Association, and many local art organizations. Her paintings have won awards and been selected for exhibit in juried shows in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. Many private collections contain her paintings.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute and has subsequently studied with many nationally prominent pastel artists.
