Please mark your calendars for a Painting Demo this Thursday, October 3rd, 6-8pm, Madison Senior Center, 29 Bradley Rd, Madison, CT. and Receiving for The Elected Member Show, Saturday, October 5th, 11am-2pm, Reception for show, Sunday Oct. 13th, 1:30-3:30, Guilford Library.

Oil Painting Demo is this Thursday, October 3rd, 6-8pm. Award winning artist Sarah Stifler Lucas grew up in Nashville, TN and received her BA of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 1970. She has maintained her studio in CT since 1973, living currently in Stonington, CT. Well known for her masterfully articulated, provocative interpretations of life, Sarah has been recognized by art collectors nationwide and abroad for her versatile talents and subtle tones, which characterize her canvases. Sarah works in oil; her style combines the representational with the abstract.  She is an elected member of several national art societies and is represented by many fine galleries. The Madison Art Society works hard to offer numerous demos and critiques throughout the year and we hope that you will join us on Oct. 3rd and get inspired!

The Elected Member Show will take place in October. This show runs October 6th– Oct. 30th, 2019. Receiving will be on Saturday, Oct. 5th, 11am-2pm at the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park St, Guilford, CT. The entry fee will be $10 and artists may enter one painting each. There will be a prize of $100 for the Popular Award. The reception will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13th, 1:30-3:30pm. Take-Down and Pick-Up is Thursday, October 30th, 3-6pm. Please download and print the prospectus on the homepage of the website, madisonartsocietyct.org, and bring it to receiving, completed.  This will make for a smooth receiving process.  Contact Cheryl Sorensen, LymeLadybug@gmail.com, our chair of membership, if you are not sure if you have elected artist status.
