Madison Art Society

Newsletter – Spring 2021

“In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing.” Vincent Van Gogh

Over this past year, if you happened to feel anything like Vincent Van Gogh, hopefully you were able to rise above the adversities we faced by turning to art.  The Madison Art Society is looking forward to the optimism that spring brings, and we will be there to educate, encourage and inspire our members to continue to create art.  Please take a look at how the board of MAS has been planning events to keep you hopeful and engaged.

Let’s get together again after a full year of COVID-19 restrictions on social gatherings!  We have missed seeing you, so please come out to see old friends and make new ones, mingle with fellow MAS members, and enjoy some refreshments.  Bring a friend who is interested in hearing more about MAS.  We are seeking volunteers to help us with various art events, so mark your calendars to make your mark in the Connecticut art community.  Contact me at hlgriff@comcast.net to get more involved in MAS.

Cindy Taylor and Christine Drago will have their artwork on display for the months of June and July at the Madison Town Campus.  MAS members’ paintings hang for public viewing and receive newspaper coverage.  Please contact Steven Pynn, pynnsteven@gmail.com to sign up for this opportunity to exhibit and sell your art.
